Pastor Clinton E. Owens accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior the first week of April in 1960. Since that day Pastor Owens has dedicated himself as a faithful student of the Bible. When the Lord called Pastor Owens to serve he was obedient and became licensed to the gospel ministry on 10 November 1965. Pastor Owens was ordained on October 19, 1969.
Pastor Owens received some formal education from three Bible College's in the areas of Bible, Ministry and Christian education. His education and studies included seven trips to Bible Lands. He participated in years of Pastors Schools and Seminars for almost every area of ministry. His most important training is in the form of over forty years experience in almost every area of ministry and thirty seven years as Senior Pastor. His experience also includes the establishment and oversight of Victory Baptist Schools.
Pastor Owens and his wife Connie have three wonderful children, two son's and one daughter, who are saved and one son who is serving the Lord as a Pastor in the state of Kentucky.
Pastor Don Swonger was saved at the age of 16, the Sunday before Christmas in 1972, under the ministry of Pastor Abe Edwards in a small church located in Beaver Center, Pennsylvania. He married his high school sweetheart, Claudia, in the fall of 1974, and they became actively involved in a bus ministry.
A few years later they moved to Nokesville, Virginia, where Don worked as a machinist while attending Victory Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor Clinton Owens. It was there that Brother and Sister Swonger became involved with the junior church program and the teen ministry. Sometimes as many as forty teenagers would converge on their house on any given weekend for sled riding, teen activities, or a campfire and hot chocolate.
After surrendering to God’s call some four years later, he moved his wife and two small children to Dothan, Alabama, to attend Bethany Bible College and Seminary. He worked full time as a designer/draftsman while attending college in the evenings. With life credit, he was able to earn a four year degree in three years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Theology and special honors in Homiletics.
Don and Claudia were blessed with two additional children while serving the Lord in Alabama for another six years. Jennifer, their oldest, now resides in Lena, Mississippi, with her husband Michael. They are expecting their first child. Jonathan, their second, is stationed with the U.S. Army in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, Stephanie, a two year old daughter, Sorina, and another daughter on the way.
Jesse, their third, has recently moved to Colorado Springs as well, in search of employment. While Jamie, their fourth child, still resides in Erie, Pennsylvania, earning her degree in computer graphics and design.
Following graduation from Bethany Bible College, Don was called to serve as associate pastor of Ewell Bible Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama, under the guidance and pastoral leadership of Dr. G. L. Wynn. He served as associate pastor, AWANA director, principal of Dale County Christian School, bus ministry director, visitation director, Bible teacher, and art, drama, math and algebra teacher in the school.
In 1993, Pastor Swonger moved his family to Albion, Pennsylvania, where he pastored a small, struggling church of 18 members. Faith Baptist Church eventually grew to more than 100 and added a five hundred seat auditorium. While still under construction, God has provided the resources for this building, through His people, without the need to borrow any money.
After fifteen years of serving in Albion and following a brief battle with cancer, Pastor Swonger and his wife felt that the Lord was leading them back to their home church in Nokesville. Pastor Swonger now serves on the pastoral staff of Victory Baptist Church, with additional responsibilities including Sunday School administrator, AWANA director, and teacher of the teen Sunday School class.
